Water Softener Installation Cost
If you live in Marble Falls, Burnet, or anywhere along the Highland Lakes, your water comes from some of the hardest limestone country in Texas — the Trinity Aquifer loads it with dissolved calcium and magnesium. A whole-home water softener is the most common fix we install, and the price depends mostly on your home’s size, your water’s hardness, and how your plumbing is laid out. Every home is a little different, so we test your water and quote the exact price upfront before any work begins.
$1,500–$2,500

Every home is different — we quote upfront before work begins, so the price you approve is the price you pay.
What Drives the Price
Home size & grain capacity
Larger households and higher water use need a higher-grain-capacity softener so it isn’t regenerating constantly. We size the unit to your bathrooms, occupants, and actual water usage.
Water hardness level
Hill Country water filters through Trinity Aquifer limestone, so most local homes test very hard. The harder your water, the more capacity the system needs to keep up — we test before we quote.
Existing softener loop vs. no loop
If your home was plumbed with a softener loop, installation is straightforward. If there’s no loop, we have to cut in a connection point on your main line, which adds labor to the job.
Softener only vs. softener + RO combo
Many homeowners pair a whole-home softener with a reverse osmosis drinking-water system at the kitchen sink. Combining the installs is more efficient than doing them separately, but it does raise the project total.

Common Questions About Water Softeners
Find answers to common plumbing and HVAC questions from our expert team.
Hard water contains high levels of dissolved minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium. Our region's water source, the Trinity Aquifer, flows through vast deposits of limestone, which is rich in these minerals. While safe to drink, this hardness causes the scale buildup that damages appliances and makes cleaning difficult.
