Frequently asked questions
- Who can apply?
- Eligible households (homeowners and renters) and nonprofit facilities in our service area that need HVAC or plumbing repairs and could use help covering them. Every request is reviewed case by case.
- What does it cost?
- HomeWorks provides free or low-cost repairs depending on the situation. There is no charge to apply, and we will always be clear about any cost before work begins.
- How is the program funded?
- How is this funded? Brandenburg covers and pays for its technicians’ labor, and our suppliers donate materials and equipment. We do not solicit or accept monetary donations from the public — the best way to help is to refer a neighbor, volunteer a licensed trade skill, or (for suppliers) partner with us on materials.
- Can I donate money?
- HomeWorks does not solicit or accept monetary donations from the public. The best ways to help are to refer a neighbor, volunteer a trade skill, or — if you are a supplier — partner with us to donate materials and equipment.
- I rent my home. Can I still apply?
- Yes. Renters are welcome to apply, though your landlord’s approval may be needed before any work can begin.
- Is help guaranteed?
- No. Help is reviewed case by case based on need, eligibility, and available resources. Applying does not guarantee that work will be scheduled.
- Who does the work?
- Repairs are performed or supervised by properly licensed Brandenburg professionals wherever Texas law requires it.
